Gloucester Counselling Service

Gloucestershire Counselling Service provides accessible and affordable counselling to the people of Gloucestershire.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, counselling services remain accessible and the service is accepting new referrals, with all sessions being offered by telephone or video link. The counselling services available to patients include:

  • Individual adult one-to-one counselling (focused 12 week model and open-ended exploratory model).
  • Counselling for children, young people and families.
  • CCG-funded counselling (12 fully funded sessions) for males and females of any age who are victims of sexual violence/abuse both current and historical.
  • Listening skills courses which can help address relationship issues.

Clients can self-refer at: www.gloscounselling.org.uk. All clients have an initial assessment, prior to commencing ongoing counselling. The service is working to minimise waiting times and provide a prompt response to requests. Appointments for initial assessments are usually available within 7 days, with on-going counselling arranged to follow as quickly as possible
